In the second of DILF’s DADvocate Series (spotlighting fathers who are taking an active effort in making the world a better place for Dads), Kevin welcomes Matt Schneider, a father of two who’s been an active stay-at-home dad for over 15 years and is also the co-founder of City Dads Group, a national organization dedicated to bringing dads together.

Together, they share a very eye-opening conversation on how the world’s view of fathers has evolved over the past two decades, the importance of self-care for Stay-At-Home Parents (SAHPs), as well as steps men can take to increase the acceptance of fathers as primary caregivers.

As a podcast created to learn more about the world of #parenting & one that often asks others to delve deep into their relationship with their kids and their partners, it’s only fair that our host does the same for time-to-time… which is one of the motivations behind DILF’s Co-Parenting Series where Kevin invites on his beautiful wife Laura to discuss any issues they might be dealing with in their #coparenting relationship – whether it has to do with their child or their relationship with one another.

Luckily it’s become a popular series amongst our listeners and has seemed to be helpful tool for others in their own relationships. So, if you are new to the podcast or this co-parenting series (which is basically our version of #couplestherapy), buckle in as Kevin welcomes back his wife/co-parent for an honest + vulnerable conversation on the importance of healthy boundaries… and his wife’s self-confessed lack of any!

This is the third installment of DILF’s Co-Parenting Series…

We spend a lot of time discussing the joys and struggles that come with parenthood, but we rarely take the time to explore the choice one makes to enter the club.

For many of us, the path to parenthood was not an easy or straight-forward journey… but that’s especially true for members of the LGBTQ community.

Kevin welcomes David Dodge, the Executive Director of Gays With Kids, who made a very conscious choice to become a #Dad on an untraditional path that led to three beautiful children…

Finding time for ourselves as parents is not always easy, especially attempting to find the time to pursue (or even discover) our passions.

Together, they discuss strategies to inspire ourselves even in the most chaotic of times, as well as everything from finding ways to incorporate more #creativity and #passion into our lives as parents to leading by example in becoming the best version of ourselves for our children… and the work it takes to get there.

In April of 2020, a father of two decided to launch a YouTube channel to offer some friendly “DADvice” to those in need — advice he sorely lacked growing up after his own father left him and his seven siblings when he was only 14 years old. That Youtube channel is called DAD, HOW DO I and in under three months it has amassed over 2.4 million subscribers.

In this episode, Kevin sits down with Rob Kenney, the dad behind DAD HOW DO I, for a heart-to-heart with the international sensation one fan referred to as “not the internet dad, but rather the internet’s dad.”Together, they discuss everything from celebrating our imperfections, the importance of being vulnerable in front of our kids, and how to prevent past mistakes from corrupting our present.
